Jessie Bayliss

Fran and Josh asked me to illustrate their wonderful wedding at Berkeley Castle, the twelfth-century Gloucestershire home of the Berkeley family. They wanted a bespoke botanical piece that matched the fairytale feel of the day.

I worked the illustration in pen and ink, placing the castle as the backdrop and threading the wedding's botanical moments — flowers from the bouquet, the arch and the reception tables — through the drawing. Each botanical element was drawn from reference photos they sent from the day itself, so details carried from the wedding into the piece.

The illustration was produced as a keepsake for Fran and Josh.
